  • Laser-etched watercolor

Etched-line watercoloring is a technique I  developed during my artist residency at Pier 9/Autodesk, using a laser cutter to etch watercolor paper before painting it. I love melding classic and new techniques and tools, in a way that showcases the strengths of both.  The laser etched lines both capture washes as colored linework, and make . The advantages it provides over regular watercolor are greater control of flow and line, as well as precision color placement. The full Instructable can be found here, along with more videos.
